The Details
Sessions
Photography Sessions are booked via phone or email. During this phase we will discuss lighting, location(s), and any other questions. About two weeks prior to your session you will receive some general information regarding tips on clothing and also individualized details about your session. Almost all of our sessions are held on-location at no extra charge; however traveling expenses may apply to remote locations.
Sessions last about an hour; give or take diaper breaks, camera shyness, melt downs, and play. I make it a point not to adhere to a strict schedule but rather base your time off of what I see through the camera. As an infant photographer, I am often on "baby time" and if the main subject is not feeling up to the shoot we can reschedule at no additional cost. For other circumstances, rescheduling entails paying the session fee no later than the original date of your shoot to reserve space for a later time.
Newborns have an extended session time of two hours to allow for feedings, changes, and other necessary accommodations; resulting in a higher session fee (see below).
We respectfully request cancellations are made at least 48 hours in advance. Session fees are non-refundable and payment is due prior to or on the date of your session.
Session Fees
With a wide variety of pricing packages that are session-specific, we truly have something for everyone. From an affordable print menu to year-long package discounts, you are sure to find something to fit your budget and needs. Please visit the Prints page for prices on prints and other specialty items. We always encourage our clients to build their own custom packages, however we have put together some basics for your convenience.
The session rate for a typical one-hour shoot is a nonrefundable $75.00. We currently do not limit the number of persons in a session; however we do not allow sessions to be split between parties. Please note that the location of your session may add additional costs for travel. Payment is due when you arrive for your session.
Our Specialty - Bellies and Babies
We can't get enough of round bellies and tiny babies, so it's no surprise how much we love to photograph expecting parents and newborns. We know how important this time is and want to help you remember it. We created specialty packages designed for expectant parents and newborns. From pregnancy to first birthday, we have you covered.
Anticipation
The moment you learned of your pregnancy you became a proud parent. This package showcases the love and the excitement of waiting for baby, marking special moments before the birth. It also explores the incredible changes that your body and soul go through during pregnancy. Our goal is to capture the ever present 'glow.'
The Anticipation package wraps up maternity sessions and a new born session into one tiny bundle for you to enjoy. Two sessions are held during pregnancy and the final session is after your baby has been born. We suggest your sessions take place in your second and third trimesters, with the newborn session within two weeks of birth.
Anticipation includes a 5x7 print from each session along with an online proof gallery. Orders made within the first two weeks of your session are eligible for 10% off the total cost of prints. You also receive 20 customized birth announcements with a picture of your choice from the new born session. For an additional $20, you can add 20 more birth announcements. Anticipation Package - $300
Arrival
The doctor is in, and so is the photographer! I am honored when an expectant family asks me to document the birth of their child. Planning for this session includes contacting the physician who is caring for you and your baby during pregnancy and also Gunnison Valley Hospital if applicable. Of course, availability depends greatly on when and how fast your baby decides to enter the world. Rest assured, I will make every effort to be there for your birth as planned, even if it is at 3 am. Please inquire about more specific details. Arrival includes two sessions; one birthing and one newborn, with one 5x7 print from each and an online proof gallery.
Arrival Package - $200
Newborns (2 Hours)
Newborn (1 to 6 weeks old) sessions last two hours to allow for diaper and clothing changes, feedings, and other necessary accommodations. Because these sessions take more time, there is a higher session fee. In order to provide full attention to the infant, these sessions are limited to 3 people. Please add $10.00 for each additional person. All newborn sessions include a private, online proof gallery.
We highly recommend if you are scheduling a newborn or infant shoot that you designate the majority of the two hours to the baby and schedule family portraits separately. Siblings are always welcome, but children are likely to be easily distracted and even get a bit of stage fright as the audience grows.
Newborns Package - $125
Milestones
Your baby's first year marks several milestones that are too precious to pass up. When you join Milestones, you can spend more time enjoying these moments. Allow us to help document those first smiles, first steps, and even the first birthday. From rolling over to toddling around, you will have 4 sessions to capture it all - ending with a messy first birthday shoot sure to put a smile on everyone's face. Each session can include up to 3 people. Please add $10.00 for each additional person.
Milestones includes 4 sessions held when your baby reaches 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months of age. A 5 x 7 print is included from each session along with your own online proof gallery. You also receive 10% off any large wall portraits, specialty canvasses, or montages that are ordered within two weeks of each session.
